The Africa Tech Alliance Forum (AfriTECH 5.0), one of the continent’s foremost technology gatherings, is set to hold its fifth edition on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos.
Now in its fifth year, AfriTECH has established itself as a premier annual convergence for thought leaders, innovators, policymakers, investors, startups, academics, and civil society to shape Africa’s digital future.
This year’s edition, themed “AI & Sovereign Tech: Building Africa’s Digital Independence,” will focus on strategies for strengthening Africa’s technology sovereignty and unlocking opportunities in artificial intelligence and other emerging innovations.
Participants will engage in high-level discussions on telecommunications, data centers, eCommerce, fintech, blockchain, and cybersecurity.
They will also experience live demonstrations of practical tech solutions designed to address pressing developmental challenges across the continent, while creating opportunities for impactful networking and partnerships.
According to Co-Convener of AfriTECH, Mr. Chike Onwuegbuchi, a major highlight of the Forum will be the Africa Tech Alliance Excellence Awards (ATAEx), which recognises innovators and change makers whose work is transforming Africa’s technology ecosystem.
Past awardees include Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, who received the Digital Transformation Leadership Award; Dr. Ayotunde Coker, who was named ATAEx Man of the Year and also honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award in Data Centre Management; Jude Ozinegbe, who emerged as Blockchain Advocate of the Year; and NeuRaL AI, which won AI Startup of the Year.

AfriTECH 5.0, according to the organisers, promises another memorable awards ceremony, shining the spotlight on innovators and change makers who are shaping Africa’s digital trajectory. The Forum is expected to attract technology visionaries, investors, policy influencers, entrepreneurs, and startups, offering them a platform to learn, connect, and scale their ideas while contributing to Africa’s digital sovereignty.
